ABOUT
He is named after a poet and his murderer from the lyric "Die Kraniche des Ibykus" from Friedrich Schiller.
Thim studied Communication Design at the Folkwang College of Fine Arts. After being a student of BBDO chairman and legend Vilim Vasata he started his career in 1996 working as an Art Director for BMZ in Düsseldorf. It only took 3 more years until he came to Hamburg to join the independent agency Jung von Matt.
He took care of various clients from different branches: Ballantines, Henkel, Canon, Obi, Sparkasse, BILD newspaper, Ligne-Roset, Nivea, Montblanc, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and others.
With various national and international awards (Cannes lions, Clio, London International Advertising Award, Epica, Art Directors Club Germany, Eurobest, One Show and others) he is one of the most awarded creatives in Germany.
Since 2011 he has been Executive Creative Director and Managing Director of Jung von Matt. Thim is also Partner of the agency group.
As well as creating and collaborating, Thim is highly active as a curator. He judges at international award shows and teaches at universities to support the next generation of creatives.
